WHAT

The Michigan State Softball Program is hosting a clinic for high school softball athletes to prepare for their high school season and get some valuable practice and feedback from elite coaches and athletes before they begin their team training for their high school teams. Since many high schools in the Midwest region do not begin organized practices until the middle of March, we are extending this clinic to all high schoolers who would like skills instruction before they begin practices and games with their high school teams. This clinic will focus on foundational skills and drill work with emphasis and these areas. While there may be some evaluation during the clinic, it will not be the main aspect we are promoting. Learning and growing skills will be the key point of this clinic.

WHAT TO BRING

Bat, Glove, Helmet, Catcher’s Gear (if applicable), fielding/pitching masks, water bottle, coat/layers, any other gear needed to participate in a traditional softball sense.

LOCATION

Indoor Hitting Building at Softball Field & Duffy Daugherty Football Center

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Participants will be transported between the Duffy Daugherty Football Center and our Indoor Hitting Building at the Softball Field by MSU Staff. The Duffy Daugherty Football Center will be the “home base” for the clinic. Addresses and Parking information will be sent out in a welcome email by MSU Softball Director of Operations, Justin Rickert, about a week before the start of the clinic. Spectators will not be allowed in the Indoor Hitting Building near the softball field due to capacity and safety concerns. Spectators will have room to watch the clinic at the Duffy Daugherty Football Center for the duration of the clinic. Fully certified athletic trainers will also be available and on site for the duration of the clinic. Water and Gatorade will also be provided. Lastly, there will be a limited selection of t-shirt and stickers for sale. Cash and all major credit cards will be accepted as payment. Sizes and inventory may vary and are not guaranteed.
